1. Go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/new-fantasyland/ and look around it a little bit. Now go to http://www.byteland.org/angeloflife. Now why do you think the .com website is more exciting than the .org website?
.com is a lot more entertaining in many different ways. Its has many different things that catch your eye like colorful things and eye popping information. Unlike .org which is much more informative. You just see dozens of paragraphs with plain information and not many exciting things.

2. Why do you think the Disney website has more hyperlinks, advertisements, and other distracting options to click on?

Disney has all of this because it wants to be more interesting and give the user more options. Personally this is much better because there is so many things  you could do. Unlike .org where it is just info.

3. If you had to construct/create your own webpage from the beginning, what would you want it to be about and why?

I would want my page to be about sports. Sports is something everyone loves. This page could offer many things like videos, photos, and info. I would also add live updates of games that are going on that very moment.

4. How many programmers do you think would have to work with you to make your website possible? Would it seem impossible to construct/create a webpage by yourself? Why?
Creating this website would be very difficult to make because I would need many licensed leagues to sign off for me to use their information.

5. What would you want to name your website? Type that name into the web-address bar, is it taken already?

www.Carbosports.com
and no it is not taken

6. Explain why webpages with flash videos, images, and color take longer to load than pages with only text? It takes along time to process all the things that are going on.

Assignment 7

1. What problems does the article mention that children run into when they use search engines?

2. What suggestions have been offered for how search engines can improve their product to lessen children’s problems searching?

3. Do you search using keywords or questions? How does the article characterize these two types of searching?

4. Have you tried using images or videos to search? How does the article characterize this type of searching?

5. What advice would you give to Internet search engine developers (like Google or Bing) for how they should improve their product? Do you think any of the improvements mentioned in the article are particularly promising? Why?

1) When children have a question they usually just look up the question directly on a search engine. But they run into problems when its a multi-step question. When they don't find the answer right away they usually give up.

2)When children struggle finding the answer to question there has been some really good suggestions. For example Google has increased the size of the search box for more complex search queries. Also if kids can provide keywords that could help dramatically.

3)When I have a really difficult question first I type in the full question. If i don't get the answer I usually type in some keywords and hopefully find something similar to the original question.

4) I have never used images or videos to search, I honestly did not know you could do that. I am really interested in trying it though.

5)I think a good idea why be to have categories. Having categories could narrow down the question and make the process a lot smoother.

Assignment 6 Online poll responses

Sebastian Carbonell
Principles of Technology
Assignment 6

1) I do think they are 100% accurate because most of the questions are opinion and this is no wrong answer. Also the questions are pretty simple and easy to answer.

2) The wording of the question does have a lot of impact on what the answer is because some people could misunderstand the question into thinking it is something completely different. For example I could be thinking its one thing because of what I understood and what some else could be thinking another.

3) I got a lot of different varieties in my polls. I also did not have any expectations when it came to my poll questions i honestly just expected a bunch of different responses.

4) First I would do different polls for every class because they all vary, one teacher could offer more homework than the other and another thing would be some students understand one class more than the other and they wouldn't have to put as much effort in some classes as they would with other.

5) I don't think the answers would be accurate because some students wouldn't be honest with the polls. Unless they are anonymous polls.

6) I don't think much would change unless I would persuade them into answering the question I want. But maybe they don't feel comfortable answering in person as they would in an online poll.

7) It was easier than I thought, it had many options on creating your poll and that made a lot better. I really can't think of making better maybe trying to add a design to the polls i guess.

1. Discuss what the main idea of the video is?

2. Do you see yourself as past oriented or future oriented? Why?

3. Do you agree or disagree with the speaker in the video? Explain why?

4. Do you agree with the speaker's view that young adults' minds are being "digitally rewired"? Explain your answer.

5. Why does the narrator in the video argue that young people dislike a single-function device such as a wristwatch?

1)About how people are past oriented, present oriented and future oriented. It discuses about how people are worried about the future or present and pas, how they live there lives as well.

2)I would say I am a little bit of both because I like to reminisce about he old times and I am also very concerned about my future.I think a lot about my past experiences but I am very aware of my future.

3)I completely agree with the speaker in the video because he makes a lot of outstanding point about the way people are.

4) I agree as well because as young adults we are accustomed to a way of life that has been very different from the past, so i guess you can say that we are very dependent on something and that we are digitally rewired.

5)As young adults we are use to having advanced technology that is made to do multiple things at once so when we are given something that is only made for one thing we become frustrated.
